Eating For Performance - Sean Sherk

I was given a video recorded from Spike TV today. My buddy left it at my door when he went to work and told me to watch the interview.
It was of Sean Sherk "the muscle shark". Sean's a mixed martial artist and competes in the UFC. His record is 33-2-1 according to the Sean Sherk wiki page.
Incredible interview showing his training, his gym and his workouts... incredible. That is the exact same gym I will have. I push myself pretty hard, but I do even more when pushed by a trainer.
So here's the point of this post. It was what Sean said during his post workout meal.
He was eating some Hemp Bread and then said
"most of the food I eat doesn't taste good. I don't eat for taste, I eat for performance"
That's just it isn't it. Food has to be recognized as fuel. If you're doing any sort of high performance output, you have to consider food as your fuel to complete the workout and to recover for the next one.
As soon as I heard that, I had to post this.
It's so important in fact, I'm going to write that again
"most of the food I eat doesn't taste good. I don't eat for taste, I eat for performance"
