the second of two timed challenges.

This challenge is to track progress in your pushup speed (as well as strength and conditioning) and see how long it takes you to complete 100 pushups.

This is a good timed challenge to use as a benchmark for tracking your improvements as you do the other pushup challenges.

Record your initial results and then check in once a month, a quarter or even a week.

Speed pushups stimulate the pecs and triceps in a different manor.  They're used to being worked in sets and certain speeds or rest times in between.  Through this speed format, the muscles are given a drastically shorter rest between sets as you push yourself harder and harder.

Expect a wicked pump and a sore chest the day after doing this.

I did my first timed event for 100 pushups today.  I've been challenged by some other fitness bloggers and personal trainers through video as to who can do 100 pushups the fastest.

I decided to try this and add it to the pushup challenges as a way to bench mark our performance as well as a way to shoot for a specific goal.

My initial time is 2m20s

I expect to cut 20 seconds off that by Jan 1st

I KNEW it was 2m20 last time.   Today 5m18 but I had just finished my chest workout.  Still, I pushed hard to get all 100 done in as short a time as possible.

WILL NOT do a time trial after a chest workout again, lol

Did another 100 pushup speed challenge after my chest workout.  Came home first though, had a meal replacement shake, then did it, so…

3m20s for 100 pushups.

Geesh – good thing I'm not attached to the outcome and KNOW I'll beat 2m20s when push comes to shove.

Ya, thanks for getting involved with this one.  IT's pretty wicked and leaves room for improvement.

I gotta get back to this one myself

I'm going to take this on on monday again.  We do upper body at boot camp that day, so I'll just take my stop watch along and do an extended pushup session
