In this challenge, anyone can contribute their daily pushups to see how long it would take for all of us to do 25,000 pushups as a combined effort. Our last pushup challenge took 3 months and 9 days to complete 10,000 pushups.
It works like this: we all begin doing pushups, whatever we can do, whenever we can (every day, every other day, 2x a week etc).
as we do them, we log in and record the number by adding it to the number before in this thread.
The total number of pushups grows, we get more active, we get more stronger, we build more attractive looking chest, shoulders, arms and core.
ie: I do 50 pushups and begin the count
Total Pushups: 50
Cookie does 20 pushups in the next thread and adds it to the total
+20 pushups
Total Pushups: 70
Mike does 30 pushups and adds it in the next thread
+30 pushups
Total Pushups: 100
and we keep doing this, doing pushups, logging in to record them and adding to the total.
So, we're going to start – or at least I'm going to start. If anyone wants to join in, we'll get to 25,000 pushups a lot sooner.
I'm going to set some goals
My goal is 550 pushups a week (100 pushups a day 2x a week plus one day that I do 250 pushups). At that rate, it would take me 45 weeks to reach 25,000 pushups.
I think combined, we could do it in 3 months like our last challenge, but we would just need more people. I plan to continue doing and recording my pushups even while I climb to Mt Everest base camp in Oct.
so, my goal: 550 pushups a week
combined goal: reach 25,000 pushups by Dec 31, 2008
one rule: the pushups have to be full, regular pushups, not the knee pushups. Ladies, if you've been doing knee pushups, time to kick up your fitness level a notch and begin doing full pushups.
Yes, continue to do knee pushups in order to train and get stronger, but only full pushups count.
and so we begin
