Weight Loss Tips

Burning fat is extremely hard to do. It requires a lot of energy as fat is very hard to break down. Your body would rather use muscle for it's energy requirements. Secondly, the digestion of food is the most energy consuming thing the body does.

Weight Loss Information

There are three options of Fat Loss that immediately come to mind. You may recognize one or more of them.  These are listed in order of least desirable to most desirable. 

Weight Loss Tactics

Reduce your calories to 1200/day or less.

For every 3500 calories you don't ingest or work off with exercise, one pound you loose (3500 calories per pound). 

Result: Low energy, low blood sugar, loss of nutrition. In general rule is for Women to take in 1500 calories and men 2500 calories. Going below these marks sends your body into starvation mode. Starvation mode will conserve energy by slowing down your metabolism, hence destroying everything you are working to achieve. Once regular eating continues, the body will store calories as fat in order to survive the next it goes without food. You gain more weight than when you started. Therefore, Eat!!

 I do not suggest reducing your calories

Eat High Protein Foods, low carbs.

The idea is that protein is harder to digest than other foods. By eating high protein foods, the body has to work harder to digest the food, and will result in an increase in metabolism which in turn burns fat.  

Result: This works to a degree, but you have to know how to protect yourself from a version of starvation. Staying on a High Protein, Low Carb routine long term will have poor results (see the article on Atkins Diet Lies

I do suggest this, but you must know what you're doing. Knowledge is the key. There is a way to make this work and the answer is in Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. It's not just about high protein, low carbs, but also knowing your caloric needs based on your body type and your activity level.

Properly Combine your foods.

What happens is that you improve your digestion and the energy you save goes into improving every aspect of your health. 

Result: Increase in energy, improved digestion, improved elimination, better sleep, better concentration and the proper use of the foods you eat to be used as building blocks for the cells of your body! By increasing your energy through improving digestion, that energy goes into cleansing your body and reducing fat. 

 I highly recommend this approach!

Properly combining your food suggests Nourishing your body. This is exactly what the Whole food concentrates I eat do.
