What Are You Willing To Do... to achieve your health, fat loss and fitness goals? by Rob Cooper, BTDT What are you willing to pay for food? The quality of the food you put in your body is directly proportional to the quality of your cells. It’s your cells that create energy and make your various bodily systems run, and if they’re given the best quality food, then they’re able to regenerate and be healthy. Conversely, low quality food creates a low quality cell. A low quality cell is not up to the demand of generating energy nor the proper removal of wastes which then results in sickness and disease. In conversation with a fellow on his food program and how he could make corrections to his diet to improve his health, burn fat and improve his workouts, I suggested a few “new” products to him. Oatmeal, some whole grain wraps, spring mix salad, and Essential Fatty Acid, Almond butter and whole grain basmati rice were a few places to begin. I gave him the name of a local whole food store where he could pick up the items and then followed up with him the next day. “You didn’t tell me how expensive it was going to be!” was his response. Well, I don’t consider it expensive, so I would not have said that it was. When I began my journey from 475 pounds down to a healthy, lean 240, I incorporated a wide variety of organic whole foods, juices, pure clean water and various Chinese whole food concentrates. I got immediate results which then further supported my decision to continue with what I was doing and the costs involved. The benefits far outweighed the cost of some good quality food. Now, fifteen years later, it’s such a lifestyle for me that I don’t even think twice about it. Our cells are our power plants in our body. Our body is constantly rebuilding itself daily and hourly. Our skeleton replaces itself once a year and the muscular lining of our stomach and our intestines is replaced every 3 to 4 days! Dr. James R. Douglas, a well known Canadian Chiropractor says this about the process of regeneration
Our body does the best job of rebuilding it can, with the raw materials we feed it. Improve the raw materials and regeneration is improved. Over time, lack of the proper raw materials can lead to disharmony or disease. That is why the Chinese say hunger and disease are the same thing." What are you willing to do?I’m approached quite regularly about which diet is best, which book would I recommend and what exercise program should a person follow. There are a lot of people who don’t consider the costs involved in eating better or exercising. There is first of all a time commitment including learning (reading, watching videos, etc) and then there is the ongoing costs involved in eating well. Purchasing a book for $40 to find out how to create a personal program for you is only the beginning. Then there’s the ongoing costs of food. Oatmeal costs money. Increasing your protein intake costs money. Increasing the amount of eggs you eat every day costs money. Adding in a whole food nutritional program of Chinese herbs and whole foods costs money. The question becomes, “what are you willing to do to attain your health?” Let’s address time first. Let me ask you this: What’s your favorite television show? What’s your next favorite? How much television are you watching in a given week? 1 Hour? Six? Or more? Ok, so are you willing to eliminate television to allow yourself time to go to the gym and prepare foods for the next day? If you’re not, then don’t bother buying any books that recommend food and exercise programs? It takes time to prepare enough food for 5 or 6 meals in a day and go to the gym once or twice a day. Secondly, if you’re not able to increase the amount of food you eat financially or the quality of the food you eat (organic), then what are you willing to do to get it. Are you willing to cut some other costs? Are you willing to increase your sales at your job or home business to be able to afford this new change? The first reasonable step I advise people to do is to make some switches or replacements. Take note of non nutritional foods in your day.. consider snacks, junk foods, coffee, pop, cigarettes (I hope you’re not still smoking), milk or dairy products, alcohol, vitamins etc and see how much you’re spending on a daily or monthly basis. Are you willing to replace these comfort foods for higher quality nutritional foods that will support you in your goals? It can be scary thought for some people. Others accept the challenge readily because they’ve truly committed to their goals and truly ARE willing to do Whatever It Takes! Switching and replacing is the easiest thing to do. Television is a waste of time and I see very clearly how it can be addictive. Time spent in front of the television can be easily spent outdoors, with family or on other self improvements courses or hobbies. News is probably the best thing you can do without. There is nothing ever good on the news and you should refuse to take in that negativity. Are you willing to be without television? SacrificesAny money you spend on books, courses, video or audio tapes that help you learn about how to improve your life and grow as a person is money well spent. In fact my mentor teaches how to create a specific fund that you put a portion of your income into monthly for just this purpose. “if you’re not growing, you’re dying” he says. This new education and information is lost if you do not practice it. Practicing it usually involves continual investment in the ideas outlined in the plan. Be aware of this. If you’re not prepared to continue investing, then you’re a knowledge junkie that never puts into practice what he or she has learned. Knowledge isn’t power, knowledge in action is power. Invest in YourselfYour body, your mind, your soul and becoming the best you can be is the single best investment you can make. Make the decision to eat the cleanest food you can, make the healthiest choices you can, begin to switch from non nutritional foods to nutritional foods and let go negativity in your life.
