April 2000
It's all over! Two and a half years of Computer System Technology at NAIT. I finished up in April and am now employed as a programmer at Market Web Solutions here in Edmonton and as a System Consultant and Network Administrator for DSK System Consultants. Part of my achievements at NAIT were getting the highest marks in two classes and being an all around funny guy! Taekwondo: Saturday May 6 was the annual Traditional Taekwondo Festival held by five area masters. Competitions include poomse, sparring, flying side kick, high jump front snap kick, power breaking and technical breaking. I got two gold medals in poomse and sparring and a silver in power breaking. For power breaking, I broke six(6) cement bricks. My instructor, Mr. Randy Hamilton, a 2nd Dan Black Belt, broke eight (8) for the gold. Photos of the day will be available soon, posted on Hong Park Taekwondo website while my breaking photos and video will be posted here. I am currently a Blue Stripe with a projected Black Belt date of December 31 of 2001. That is to say that as of December 31, 2001 I will either be a Black Belt or be ready to be tested for a Black Belt (as the Black Belt testing dates are only twice a year). Website Update: Version 3.0 of FormerFatGuy.com is in the works. It should be available before the end of June 2000. I have moved to a new host which provides ASP pages and Front Page extensions and a whole lot more space. Planed improvements will be a better guest book, a FAQ page and more sections to include Food, Fitness and Books. I am also working on the "Whole Story" to finish up the "Road down from 475" as I promised. . I have long used Notepad to do all my editing of this web page, but in order to manage it better I have opted to go with a "Wussywig" editor. I find that Microsoft Front Page 2000 is just what I need and will be using it from now on. And for anyone who cares, I also program while listening to Winamp!
