April 1999
Season opener for the News and Goings on for April & MayEnd of April brings finals for my classes at NAIT. I have a week off and then start summer session until the middle of July. Finals are April 19,20 and 21. Summer classes are BCS340 Project Development Fundamentals and BCS380 Systems Analysis & Design. Two heavy heavy classes. The good part is that one class requires a Saturday morning session which gets me out of the house early and leaves all Saturday afternoon open to enjoy the sun and the beach at Ma-me-o! This is by far my favorite place to spend an afternoon. Diet:With spring here, I decided to do a little light juice drinking. I took a week off from the gym and took it easy sipping juices a little longer into the day and taking a break from my usual oatmeal / amaranth breakfast. The whole food nutritional program I follow is basically juiced foods, just better quality, quantity and sources along with the system specific nourishment, but I wanted to take a break from the more solid foods I eat. This is just temporary of course as I don't want to loose too much muscle mass I have worked so hard to build. With the cleansing formula and the nourishing formula, the extra break from solids sure was a welcomed spring break for those couple of days. I am going to post a whole section on the food that I eat as I am getting a lot of requests about it. Fitness:I have decided to commit to adding an hour of aerobics to my routine every day for the spring and summer. I have doubled my walking time to 40 minutes and am going to work in an hour of Tae-Bo and cycling. That is to say, I will pick one of the above and do an hour each day just after I get up. Then eat, then do my weight training a couple of hours after that as usual. I love walking. I find it meditative and just so refreshing having the blood filled with oxygen. I recently started this Tae-Bo thing and really like it too. I need to find a place here in Edmonton that puts on on hour workout I can get into for cheap. Super Cities Walk:I am participating in the 1999 Super Cities Walk charity walk for Multiple Sclerosis. In Edmonton, it's on Sunday May 02 and my group and I are doing the 28K route. I've done this twice before and had a good time. Join up in your city and raise some money. I am going to be doing my best to promote a healthy lifestyle and the healthy advantage. Look for photos of the event when I am done.
